A brokenness before God precedes revival coming to a community. This is to allow God to shape His leaders for the move of the Holy Spirit which is about to occur within the community. During these times God Himself sets the standard and equips those who are called to be leaders within the Christian community so they won't bend under pressure but remain obedient to God and His holy commandments. The key is the steadfastness to the Lord as many people come to repentance so church doctrine won't be compromised as many people turn back to the ways of the Lord.
Jesus is God: In a Bible believing church Jesus is recognized for who He truly is.
Salvation of souls: The gospel being preached brings sinners to repentance. A natural component of a Bible believing church is people becoming Christians, accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.
Unity within the congregation: The Holy Spirit brings unity.
Sense of peace during church organized events as well as over the church property: A church that has yielded itself to God has ushered in the presence of the Lord and the events that they under take are blessed and have the peace of God about them.
Not operating the church by earthly wisdom: When God’s people take time to pray the focus turns to being God pleases and not living for or worshipping the ways of man. A Bible believing church is a praying church where the Lord is able to speak through different members and guide it such as a crew guides a ship even in stormy waters.
Suggested reading: Book of Galatians: Galatians is sharp reminder of a church that became bound up in the ways of man. It gives hope to a church working through their issues as well as insight on how to yield yourself to God and be His vessel.
Using the Holy Spirit's wisdom and guidance how does the church rank or respond in the following areas? This is not a list of condemnation, but that God may increase and be actively involved in the life of the church family.
Is God's grace at work in the lives of the members?
Are there corporate prayer meetings?
Is there open and honest communication among the members, church board and pastoral staff?
Are issues from the past haunting the present?
Is there evidence of the fruit of the Spirit among the church family?
Is there a sense of unity?
Are appropriate and supportive mid week groups in place which are relevant to the needs of the congregation members?
Do the pastor(s) have people which they may openly and freely confide in?
