The Bible tells us of a very special story. In Luke 15 we read the parable of The Prodigal Son. It is so special ... While the son was in the far off land his father waited patiently for him to come home. This is Jesus' heart beat for you. Right now regardless of what you have done Jesus is waiting and willing to accept you. I invite you where you are to pray a prayer with me placing your life back into the hands of the Lord Jesus. Just as when you first said "Yes" to Him it is time to say "I'm back". He will take you gladly and with open arms. Let's pray:
- Jesus here we are. Lord I am bringing a special child of yours back home. Jesus your child is willing to come back and to live life following after you. I pray that Your peace would be present in Your child's mind, heart and home. I pray that you would give this child of Yours the strength to face up to the life they have been living yet because of your cross, Lord Jesus, I pray You would lift off the burden and transform what Satan meant for bad to Your glory.
Now friend it is your turn to pray. I don't doubt a number of things have happened during this past season of your life. Jesus has a personal interest in you. It is His desire to see you set free from the life you have been living. Take time to pray right now.
First off say "Hello" to Jesus again. Tell Him in your own words that you have come to a place in your life where you again realize your need for Him. Jesus did something really special for each of us. He died to take the place of our sin. He will lift the burden you have been carrying as you confess the lifestyle you have been involved in. This may be as simple as drifting apart from Him and today coming home or you may have turned your back and walked away from Jesus --- Whatever the case may be Jesus is as close as the mention of His name. Where you are begin to pray now.
After you have acknowledged Jesus' work on the cross for your life invite the Holy Spirit to search your heart and mind so you may confess to Him the roots of the sins you have been involved with. We have included The Ten Commandments below. Use this as a guide while you are praying allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you directly. Have a piece of paper ready so as the Holy Spirit guides you in specific ways you are able to record and follow through with your commitment.
God spoke all these words, saying, "I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
You shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me, and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain, for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. You shall labour six days, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your man-servant, nor your maid-servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates; for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.
Honour your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.
You shall not murder.
You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal.
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour.
You shall not covet your neighbour's house. You shall not covet your neighbour's wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbour's.
