Definitions of the leadership gifts in the body of Christ

Apostle: Someone who has seen or walked with Jesus

Evangelist: Someone who has been given a burden to see the lost accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

Pastor: Taking care of people like a shepherd cares for His sheep.

Prophet: Prophets are called by the Lord to speak for Him bringing God's wisdom into a situation, geared to bring people back to Jesus by their words.

Teacher: Motivated by the discovery of truth, shedding Jesus' light onto others.

All of the leadership gifts have a common goal of equipping and building up the body of Christ for works of service in Jesus' name.
