The Heart of Jesus
Saturday September 15th, 2007

In John 14:1-3 we read Jesus words:

Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (NASB)

It is Jesus' desire that we be united with Him. This was the focus of the cross. Jesus had gone ahead of us to make a way that we could be united to the Father through Him. As He is in Heaven and we await His glorious return the words above from John 14 are words of comfort. Jesus is preparing our eternal dwelling.

The neat and amazing thing given to us through the power of the Holy Spirit was the authority to pray in Jesus' name. Through the Holy Spirit we would recognize our salvation found in Him. Jesus' mission was a glorious reunion with the Father such as how Adam and Eve walked and talked with the Father before the fall.

With Jesus being fully man and fully God we are able to connect with Him in prayer and as we live out our daily lives. These hands and feet given to us our the extension of His hands and feet as we live out our daily lives. We are also able to connect with Jesus during times of rest and restoration in our own lives. Many times Jesus went to be with the Father alone, finding a place of rest. We have access to the rest found in Him when we simply invite Him into our times of renewal and restoration.

What I am saying is that Jesus is relevant for today. The love He shared we are able to propel forward; When life hurts or we need a place of solitude He is there with us; When this life is over we have our eternal home waiting for us.

Lord Jesus we pray for more of you in our lives. Amen
